Durham is located in Bucks County, Pennsylvania with 1,144. The Lenni Lenape Indians were the earliest inhabitants of what is now called Durham. Archaeologists found much evidence of their prehistoric existence here. To the Lenape what we know as Durham Village, they called “PECHOQUELON.” Durham Township holds the distinction of being the location that Robert Durham built the first Durham Boat, the boat that was used by George Washington to cross the Delaware River.
